Inflation has been more or less missing in action for the past decade, but as we enter the latter stages of the pandemic will the rebounding economy push inflation higher and, if so, will rates follow or will central banks suppress rates to sustain the recovery?

PM Geoff Castle and Ben Rabidoux, President of North Cover Advisors, assessed the current inflationary environment for signals. Whatever the future holds, we still have to find ways to invest in the credit markets we are dealt today.

Over the years we have experienced a range of conditions and have what we believe to be a tried and tested manual of strategies we can deploy. Associate PMs Emily Wheeler and Parul Garg presented our practical guide to inflationary and deflationary fixed income investing, and how we navigate central bank monetary policy for the best potential benefit of our investors. Hint: it’s not just about duration.

“I think you are going to see central banks start to take a more proactive view on how they can either help with that process of rebalancing wealth or just stop exacerbating it with their policies” – Ben Rabidoux
