Stephen McDermott

Stephen McDermott has extensive experience in investment wholesaling having successfully built and grown four sales regions across Western Canada over his 30-year career. He started out working at one of Canada’s big five banks before joining a then-independent fund company as a regional vice president. He moved laterally to spend 13 years at a global insurance and investment firm before spending seven years with a Unified Managed Account technology provider as a consultant to advisors in Western Canada. He went on to build out the western regional presence for a Canadian ETF product provider. Stephen believes the role of investment wholesaling and support of wealth advisors in their practices beyond product discussions, is more important than ever.

Stephen studied Finance and Sales Management at Ryerson University. He moved to Victoria in 2010 and enjoys hiking, paddleboarding and precision colouring. He is also a philographer.
