Ian Gibson

Ian Gibson joined Pender in January 2022 as our Director of Technology.  Ian adds a data, cybersecurity, and process automation lens to our leadership team and is accountable for aligning technology capabilities to business goals.  

He is a seasoned technology professional with over 25 years of experience in technology leadership, operations, product strategy and business development in the Canadian financial services and wealth technology sectors. 

Ian started his career at one of Canada’s oldest independent full-service investment firms where he was responsible for deploying and managing technology solutions across the different functional areas of the firm to support sales, operations and portfolio management. He oversaw large-scale technology projects, business process improvements, system audits and the design and implementation of the firm’s web presence, CRM systems, portfolio performance analytics, and digitization of the client experience. 

He has also served as a member of the executive leadership team at a leading Canadian wealth technology firm in Toronto where, in addition to overseeing product strategy, he was responsible for business development in Western Canada. Ian has consulted extensively both in Canada and abroad in the areas of operations, project management and in enterprise technology strategy in the financial services industry.
