Every company is a digital company. Whether they knew it or not before the pandemic, they certainly know it now.

Companies are challenged to embrace digitization and innovation, or risk being disrupted. The good news is that the right technology can provide solutions to many of the pain points being faced by established industries.

Felix Narhi talked to Ron Shaich about the adoption of technology in the hospitality sector. Ron understands the needs and pain points of the restaurant industry better than most. He was ahead of the curve at Panera, where he saw how consumer behaviour was changing which led him to embrace technology and digitization well ahead of his peers. Understanding where the world was heading and making smart bets to be ready as that world unfolded enabled Ron to bring value to his customers and generate extraordinary results for his investors.

“…the language of delivery and discovery are completely different. The language of discovery is the language of, “What could it be?” “Could you imagine?” It’s that creative juice. The language of delivery is the language of, “Prove it to me”, “I won’t believe until it’s done”. It’s the language of spreadsheets. And one is poetry, the other is prose.” – Ron Shaich
